Ok the last week has being quite busy. I now have a 2nd draft of the script "Catfishing". I still think the dialogue needs to be tightened up and, and then I think we are ready to cast and do read throughs to see how if flows. Location wise I have a number of places that I need to check out, namely the Step Inn (Stepaside), The Bray Fishing Club or The Bray Green Bowling Club Bars. Both look good from the inside as bars, but I would need to get an exterior shot of another bar. I'm still thinking about the location for the exterior shot for the club scene. Also I've being reading up on the mistakes that can be made from to the one shot over two scenes, particularly when those scene are moving into two different areas of lighting. ie Interior of Bar to Interior of Bathroom. I'm going to have to do test on the colour temp in each room. and check out the exposure needed for each room. Audio wise I think, we will have to film in a time period that the bar is closed and the machines can be turned off, as these are night scenes this may become problematic with the locations.
On a side note production for the music video, is moving but more laterally than forward. I still waiting for my client to get back to me with a track, he said he would by the end of this week. If that fails to happen, I have a song I would like to do from an American artist Jill Zimmerman "Respect". I have already started taking test shots for this. We also have tested doing a live performance, recording the audio and visuals. The main test was to see if we could get a good sound from the H6N, this appears to have worked really well. Which now gives me more option in using an artist, particularly one I have worked with in the past, but hasn't got a good recording of his stuff. So things are moving forward and seem to be getting there.

So the decision has being made to do Catfishing as the film for my grad show. The synopsis of Catfishing is "When Social media lurking becomes the real life stacking." The final treatment of this has being finished at at the moment I am about 6 scenes into the first draft of the script, so only 3 more scenes left to do. I hoping by the end of this weekend I will have a second draft completed and ready to go into pre production. I think at 2nd draft, the script will be locked down enough, that although it will be open to change it will need working with the actors through rehearsals to get these changes right.
On a side note, after shooting "A man walks into a Bar" last weekend. I have being able to experiment filming and recording sound in a working bar. This will help while shooting Catfishing, one of the issues that came up was the quality of sound coming from a working bar and trying to get clean sound from the actors. I think the only way around this is to get a function-room, that isn't a working bar so that I can control the environment sound and bring in quite a lot of extras. It should be interesting times ahead. Current I am still at the same level with the grad script. But since the last Blog a lot of tests have being done for the grad film. Firstly "In Or Out" a romantic comedy has being shot. My role was Director and Script on it, the testing on this was practicing shots and using the crane and the slider, seen how the work with in the story. Next we are shooting "A guy walks into the Bar" comedy. I'm AD, sound and script, the practice I'm looking for from this is working with a number of actors and getting clean dialogue sound. Lastly the next one is a sketch called "Break Up" Comedy. This is a 3 page comedy script, that I wrote and Directed. I was looking to get experience in shooting rushes and sound in a very busy and noisy location. This appeared to go well, I'm still editing though.
Ok so finally I have an idea, I'm going with the idea of Jack Morris (working title) this is going to be now a small piece of information about a person, can reveal a lot about a person, when using the internet and how it can have catastrophic results in the wrong hands.
